With January and February being crucial months for wedding planning, according to eBay, there are some new trends emerging in the world of weddings.
The online marketplace has analysed search data to pick out some top trends for weddings in the coming 12 months. The website also noted that Sundays are when brides-to-be are most likely to be scouring the internet in search of wedding dress inspiration.
In fact, one of the top trends identified by the site is for pink wedding dresses. In the past month, there have been almost 600 searches for this kind of outfit, with brides possibly inspired by the likes of Agyness Deyn and Gwen Stefani.
Given that Pantone has named its colour of the year as ultra violet, could we see some couples looking to incorporate this shade in either their outfits or their venue decor?
But pink isn’t only a popular choice for wedding dresses at the moment, with pink sapphire engagement rings coming into the spotlight thanks to Princess Eugenie, who announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank in January and showed off her pink sapphire ring.
When it comes to the wedding venue styling, a couple of trends are emerging. One is for wedding arches, with eBay revealing there have been almost 1,000 searches for this term in the past month; while another is for doughnut walls.
Other items that couples are searching for include wedding invitations and wedding post boxes – there have been 7,000 searches for the latter term alone in the past month, the website revealed.
