Wedding Flower Trends To Watch This Year

If you’re going to be tying the knot later this year then no doubt you’ll be in full swing with your wedding plans. There can still be elements of the wedding venue styling to arrange closer to the time – one of which could be your flowers.

Real Simple recently highlighted some of the wedding flower trends for 2018 as selected by Pinterest, so their tips could be a good place to go for inspiration if you’re not sure where to start with this element of your wedding decor.

Their advice isn’t so much about the blooms being used, but more about the way in which they’re arranged or presented. One suggestion is to use potted plants, rather than cut blooms, to decorate your wedding venue.

You could even offer these to your guests at the end of the night to give them a lasting keepsake of your special day.

For a truly magical touch to your wedding venue, another trend you might want to look at is suspended flowers. These works especially well for a summer wedding in a marque, where flower chains can dangle from the ceiling. According to the website, it will mean your guests are “transported to a whimsical and fairytale-like wonderland”.

You may also want to consider using flowers in unusual ways – such as by having small flowers, or even just petals, as a garnish in the cocktail that’s handed out to guests on arrival.

If it’s help with choosing the right flowers themselves though, you may want to check out what some florists have selected as their favourite wedding blooms of the moment – tulips and poppies were among those named as particularly good options for spring weddings.
